Susan Marie Gatheridge, 63

Susan Marie Gatheridge, 63, of Humboldt, Minn., passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024, holding the hand of the love of her life and husband, Ronald Gatheridge, at home surrounded by family.
She was born in Milwaukee, Wis. on April 22, 1960, to Nancy and Robert Knutowski. Her parents settled in Presque Isle, where they owned the SkyView Motor Lodge and Supper Club. She graduated from Lakeland Union High School in Minoqua, Wis. In high school she enjoyed track and field as well as music and played the flute, accordion, saxophone and mandolin. She moved to Montana after graduating and continued her passion for the outdoors, including telemark skiing and long-distance road bicycling.
She married Rudy Schlegel in 1980 and they had a daughter, Sarah Schlegel (Infantino) in 1981. They separated when Sarah was young but remained friends and raised Sarah in West Yellowstone, Mont. Sarah shared a very special connection with her mother, and that relationship was one of their deepest blessings. Susie was a talented florist for many years and had her own floral business in town, greatly enjoying sharing in the community’s major life events.
Susie was a devoted mother, stepmother, grandmother, daughter, sister, niece and wife; adding laughter and magic to the lives of her family that she loved so much. She was a loyal friend and had her wonderful Wolf Pack and many dear friends over the years. There were so many lives she touched and kindnesses she shared.
Susie spent the last 20 years of her life with Ron. They married in 2012 and loved their years running High Mark Snowmobiles together in West Yellowstone. They relocated to Ron’s hometown of Humboldt in 2016.
She is survived by: her husband, Ronald Gatheridge; daughter Sarah (Bryan) Infantino; father, Robert Knutowski; siblings, Robert Knutowski Jr., Michael Knutowski, Judith (Tim) Ray; stepchildren, Rhonda Gatheridge, Tammy (Doug) Lee, Chadwick Gatheridge; grandchildren, Jacob, Preston and Jackson Eder, and Saylor Infantino; step-grandchildren, Jack, Michael and Charlotte Infantino, Natasha Gatheridge, and Billy, Bray and Braden Lee; and many adoring aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
