Lancaster School hosts annual Literacy Night
On Thursday, March 21, kids were invited to attend Literacy Night at Lancaster School. The theme for the event this year was “Adopt-a-Reading Buddy.”
Those in attendance were able to participate in several different stations that included decorating a house and collar for their newly adopted pet, playing pet-themed math and literacy games, making animal masks and headbands, or simply reading a book.
Families were also able to enjoy a meal and take pictures in front of the photo booth.
The evening ended with a few rounds of Book Bingo where everyone left with a new book (or two).
There was a great turn out of kids and everyone seemed to have had a great time.
Early literacy is the foundation of a child’s development and is essential in preparing them for success. Many people attended, volunteered for, supported and donated to this event.
We hope that, with ongoing support, we will be able to continue this event in the future.
