Dennis Diamond, 79

Dennis Diamond, 79, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024, at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock, Minn. He was a beloved husband, father and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Dennis Harvey Diamond was born on July 16, 1945, at a Crookston hospital to Harvey and Helen (Pearson) Diamond. Dennis was the only son with five sisters to tease regularly.
Dennis graduated from Northwest School of Ag, Crookston, in 1963. Following graduation, he attended the University of Minnesota and farmed with his father and uncle. While living in the Twin Cities, Dennis was introduced to a young girl from Iowa. On July 22, 1967, he married Permilla Winn in Spencer on one of the hottest, most humid days in Iowa.
Dennis and Perm began their life in Humboldt, Minn., where he farmed and raised their family. Eventually his sons and nephew, Chris, joined him on the family farm, where they raised small grains, sugar beets, soybeans, and other crops throughout the years.
Dennis loved playing and watching sports, hunting, snowmobiling, fishing and golfing. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, sharing stories, playing games and watching their sporting events. He was always there to offer guidance, support and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.
After his retirement from farming, you would see Dennis on the golf course working on his short game, putting and perfecting his drive on the Lancaster golf course. He was always eager to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others.
Dennis is survived by: his loving wife of 57 years, Perm; his children, Joell (Brian) Olson, James (Mary), and Benjamin (Stacy); and his grandchildren, Megan (Kirby), Brady (Alison), Shelby (Oelof), Ty (Madyson), Douglas and Caroline; great-grandchildren, Ryker, Ivy, Hayes, and Navy; sisters, Nancy Muir, Marlys Lofberg, Delores (George) Bean, Linda Lindom, and Lois Diamond-Berg; sister-in-law, Shery (Jon) Harrold; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers-in-law, Danny Lindom and Tim Berg.
His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
A funeral is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 14 at 11 a.m. at Humboldt Methodist Church in Humboldt. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service. Lunch will be served after the service and the interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Hallock.
In lieu of flowers or cards, the family asks that donations be made to the Kittson County Hospice or the Lancaster Golf Course.
