Glenn Edward Craigmile, 95

Glenn Edward Craigmile, 95, of Dilworth, Minn., died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024.
Glenn was born on March 1, 1929, in Hallock, Minn., one of five children of Mark and Hilma Craigmile. He attended the county school for grades first through eighth and the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston for grades ninth through 12th, graduating in 1947. In 1948, Glenn enlisted in the Army. He served in Korea from 1950 to 1951.
Upon returning from Korea, Glenn met his wife, Norma. To this union two sons were born, Mitchell and James. From 1951 to 1956, Glenn and family lived on the family farm. In 1956, Glenn began his 33-year career at Northern States Power Company (Xcel Energy). He retired in 1989.
Glenn and Norma made their home in Dilworth, where he served on various boards including at the Dilworth Lutheran Church, where he was a member since 1958, and the Dilworth School Board. He was also a member of the American Legion, a Hall of Fame member of the Dilworth Lions club, a lifetime member of the VFW, and a volunteer fireman for 20 years.
Glenn led an active lifestyle and was often found outdoors hunting, fishing and golfing. He also enjoyed bowling and playing pinochle at the American Legion.
Glenn is survived by: his son, Mitchell (Rita) of Fort Dodge, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Carla Craigmile of Bismarck, N.D.; four grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald (Clarice) of Hallock, and Neil (Jean) of New Braunfels, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Norma; son, James; sister, Delia Fowler; brother, Milton (Pete) Craigmile; and great-grandson, Bentley James Craigmile.
The family received friends at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead. Services followed at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
