Timothy ‘Willie’ Wilson, 68

Timothy Lee “Willie” Wilson, 68, passed away on Feb. 23, 2025, at his home in Grand Forks, N.D., with family gathered by his side. He fought a long courageous battle with esophageal cancer.
Tim was born July 17, 1956, to Marvin and Maxine Wilson. He grew up in Joliette, N.D., and went to school in Pembina, where he graduated high school, the class of 1974. Tim started working for B & N railroad in 1978 and retired in 2009. He worked on the railroad for 31 years before retiring to his lake home at Rocky Point, Lake of the Woods. Tim married Lois Strege on July 16, 1988. They divorced in 1997. They had three beautiful children.
Tim had a great love for fishing, he loved being out on the water and being with his family, friends, kids and grandkids. He always had a treat waiting for the neighboring dogs along with some head scratches and pets. Tim loved a good beer or a Colorado bulldog, and a good visit with all his friends and family. Tim had a huge heart and would do anything for anyone. He will be greatly missed.
Tim is survived by: his sons, Cody (Ashley) Wilson, Kyle (Nicole) Wilson; and daughter, Holly Kaltenberg; mother, Maxine Wilson; brother Dwight (Deb) Wilson; three beautiful granddaughters, Evelyn, Sahriah, Scarlett; and two bonus grandchildren, Emma and TJ.
Tim is preceded in death by his dad, Marvin; sister, Deb; many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Tim has requested a celebration of life to commemorate him. Services were at Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks, Friday, Feb. 28 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held 1 hour before the service. An online register book may be signed at www.amundsonfuneralhome.com.
