Nancy Miedtke, 62
Nancy Miedtke, 62, of Maple Grove, Minn., passed away suddenly on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, coming as a huge shock to her friends and loved ones. Nancy was such a vibrant human being with an extreme zest for life that
radiated out from her and encompassed anyone who was blessed enough to be in her orbit. Her smile would fill the room with joy, and her laughter was as contagious as it was frequent, always bringing light and positivity everywhere she went.
Nancy had an illustrious career spanning over 30 years in organizational learning and development. Some companies she worked for over the years include Carlson, Wells Fargo, RBC, TCF, and Cargill. She even created her own business at one point, Fuse Learning Solutions, in which she was able to use all her previous experience and knowledge to contract out her services. Throughout her career Nancy rose to leadership positions and was often looked to for insight and advice as she was both extremely insightful as well as passionate about her work. She made many connections and lasting friendships that remain to this day, which is a testament to how esteemed she was in her field. She was dedicated, powerful, knowledgeable, fearless and carried these and many, many more admirable traits with her on a daily basis. Upon retirement Nancy took up several hobbies including yoga, taro, pickleball, a variety of crafts including rock painting and runes, and even became Reiki-certified.
Writing was one of Nancy’s passions. She had just completed her first novel, “Esclarmonde’s Collective.” A historical conspiracy thriller, spanning from the classrooms of Brown University, the libraries under the Vatican, and the mountains of Montserrat Spain. Her eyes would light up when recounting her progress or a certain passage and was extremely excited, yet nervous, for the final launch. In addition to her own novel, she was a member of a book club that she always looked forward to going to. She also attended writing clubs and delved into established writer’s classes/lessons, always looking to improve and perfect her craft.
On top of this, Nancy was exceptionally adventurous. She loved traveling and soaking in the culture and vibrancy of places around the globe. Among some of the places and highlights of her travels was a cruise around the Grecian islands and coast, Spain, Iceland, Banff, France, and countless others. For her Thailand trip she even learned how to scuba dive and obtained her motorcycle permit so she could zip around the 762 harrowing turns it took to get to Pai from Chang Mai, proving her inspirational bravery and tenacity once she put her mind to something. She had an unbelievable streak on Duolingo of 1,300 days learning French in anticipation of a trip she wanted to take to live and travel around the country.
Nancy was known for being a warrior for inclusivity and standing up for what she believed in. She was heavily involved in politics and always fighting for what she thought was right. She fearlessly attended many rallies and lent her voice and body to amazing causes, inspiring those around her. Nancy was never afraid to challenge the norm, proudly dubbing herself a “witchy woman.”
In addition to all these fantastic feats Nancy was the most incredible mom her children, Katie and Matt, could ever ask for. She selflessly gave everything to raise and form them into the people they are today. She spent numerous weekends in gyms for their various sporting events, making every effort to never miss one. She provided for them and brought them on life-changing adventures with her. She was their ultimate superfan and champion, always lifting them up and propelling them forward under her love and guidance. Her strength, devotion, and dedication to her children made her their rock and safe place.
There are countless incredible traits, stories, accomplishments and qualities that made up the absolutely exceptional woman who was Nancy Miedtke. Finding the words to encompass who she was is nearly impossible. Those who were blessed to know her at any point in her life know what an extraordinary woman she was. Nancy will be missed and mourned by many. It is a devastating loss for her family and friends.
Nancy is survived by: her children, Katie and Matthew Miedtke; her sister, Andrea Anderson; and nieces and nephews, Sarah, Emily, Paul and Nicholas.
