Florence Dahl, 86

Florence Carolyn Dahl, 86, passed away unexpectedly at her new home in Moorhead, Minn., on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
Florence was born on July 23, 1939, to Edward and Alma Jochim. She attended Herman High School and later the Minnesota School of Business. Florence met Robert Dahl in Minneapolis, and they were married on June 5, 1964. Robert brought her to “God’s Country,” where together they raised their three children: Todd, Vance and Margo.
Florence worked at Originals in Drayton, N.D., for more than 20 years before retiring. In retirement, she especially enjoyed visiting and traveling with her daughter and attending her grandchildren’s activities. Her greatest joy was her family, and she loved gathering together, sharing stories and filling the room with laughter. Florence was known as the family historian, always remembering the stories, details and connections that kept generations close.
Florence was deeply committed to her faith and was a longtime member of Teien Covenant Church, which remained an important part of her life throughout the years.
She is survived by her daughter, Margo Miltenber-ger; her son, Vance Dahl; grandsons, Lukas (Krystal) Dahl and Markas (Ashley) Dahl; granddaughters, Lexi (Garrett) Shelley, Elsie Miltenberger, Ava Miltenberger, and Claire Miltenberger; and great-grandchildren, Bekkam Dahl, Brooks Dahl and Louie Dahl.
Florence was preceded in death by: her husband, Robert; her son, Todd; her brother, Rodney Jochim; and her parents.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services for Florence will be held on Thursday, May 21 at 11 a.m. at Teien Covenant Church in rural Drayton. Visitation will be held at the church for an hour prior to the service.
