Kittson Central Auditorium to be named for its donor, Curtis Miller
By Jack Waters
At the Wednesday, June 24 Kittson Central School Board meeting, the board officially approved a motion to name the school’s auditorium in honor of Curtis Miller, a consistent financial donor during his lifetime. They reviewed local property records and his obituary, and the board opted to omit his middle initial ‘W’ from the final name and signage. Plans are underway for a formal announcement and dedication event.
There was also a spirited debate over a proposal to move up the 2026-2027 senior graduation date to a week earlier. Interim Superintendent Wade Johnson recommended next year’s graduation be held on Sat., May 22, allowing seniors to finish their academic year a few days earlier than the rest of the school. Johnson said it would help the administration to clean up tasks and allow any students with outstanding work to finish up.
