Kennedy tables Widseth request and moves ahead with Bollig on water project

The Kennedy City Council held off on signing a transfer agreement from Widseth engineering firm during the regular meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 10.
The city switched engineering firms from Widseth to Bollig Engineering in November. Widseth sent this transfer agreement, which would hold them harmless if the city couldn’t complete its water project or loses the funding already procured.
“My suggestion would be, prior to the city signing this, I think you may want to ask the city’s attorney to come in to the January meeting and look this over, as well as the contract,” said City Clerk/Treasurer Melissa Woinarowicz.
Bollig Engineer Kris Ambuehl, who appeared via phone, agreed.
“I can tell you, from our standpoint, we will not be signing it,” Ambuehl said. “The way Widseth has it worded, basically that’ll take away any potential liability or anything off them and put it on both the city and Bollig together. And truthfully, there’s no benefit to us in doing it.”
