During their final meeting of 2025, the Kittson County Commissioners approved the final 2026 budget with a 4.4% increase over the previous budget.
This is a decrease from the preliminary budget the board set in September.
“If you recall, we started at a 6.2% increase,” said Aimee Sugden, county administrator. “Through some work with the highway department on getting quotes and shifting some other things around, right now, today, we sit at a 4.3% increase.”
Commissioner Theresia Gillie asked the board to reconsider putting the appropriation to Kittson County Hospice back in the budget. It had been removed.
