City to meet with contractor, previous mayor about ditch
By Anna Jauhola
Lake Bronson’s City Council again heard about water issues along a ditch on city property during its regular meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 17. Ron Austad expressed during public comment the amount of work and money he put into fixing the ditch with different rock, and his disappointment that the city wouldn’t reimburse him for it.
A few years ago, there was a drainage issue by Austad’s residence along River Street in Lake Bronson. The city paid for Anderson Bros. Construction to fix it, but small rock was used and Austad said it wasn’t draining right. So most recently, Austad had larger rock installed and said it’s working better. However, he did not ask the city before he had the work done.
“Don’t you think you should approach the city and talk about it?” asked Councilor Brian Undeberg.
“Well, maybe, but you know what? It’s done right, right? The whole thing is I saved the money.”
