Val Jean Lindgren, 67

Val Jean Arnette Lindgren, age 67, of Hallock, Minn., passed away peacefully at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks on July 11, 2020.
She was born Dec. 10, 1952, in Hallock to Marvin and Kathryn (Matthew) Hallberg.
She attended school in Kennedy, where she graduated in 1970.
On Oct. 3, 1970, she was united in marriage to Keith Lindgren at Red River Lutheran Church. To that union, a son, Chad Arlen, and a daughter, Shawna Dee, were born.
Val Jean worked in the Kennedy school system, ran a home daycare and worked at Harvest States for many years.
She very much enjoyed her grandchildren and watching their various sporting events. She also enjoyed camping, boating, baking, gardening and attending country music concerts. She was a member of Red River Lutheran Church.
Val Jean is survived by her children, Chad (Maria) Lindgren of Rapid City, S.D.; her daughter, Shawna (Rod) Hennen of Hallock; grandchildren Brenden, EJ, Tyler, Steven, Asher, Madyson, Hayden, Tyler and Brynn; her mother, Kathryn Hallberg of Hallock; sisters, Valerie (Ernie) Pietruszewski of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Vickie Dahl of Hallock, Dee Verle (Danny) Haugstad of Hallock, and Jody (Kevin) Nordine of Hallock; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith; her father, Marvin; brother-in-law, Conrad Dahl; and sister-in-law, Sandra Lindgren.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at 11 a.m. in the Red River Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hallock. Social distancing was practiced.
