Reba Helene (Gorsline) Cole, 80

Reba Helene (Gorsline) Cole, 80, of Hallock, Minn., passed away peacefully at the Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center on March 10, 2021, after a short illness.
Reba was born Jan., 6, 1941, in Ontario, Canada, to Hollet and Marion Gorsline. She grew up in Demorestville, Ontario, and met the love of her life, John, while attending school. Reba was active in dance and sports as a young woman, tap dance and square dance were her favorites. She also pitched fastpitch softball. She married John Cole on Jan. 22, 1960. John’s job with Trans Canada and Great Lakes Natural Gas relocated them to Wisconsin and then to Hallock.
Reba was one of the founders of the Hallock Hockey Moms Association. She managed the canteen at the rink for over 35 years and was a fixture at the rink during hockey and public skating. She was a second mom to many young hockey players over the years. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting and traveling with John over the years.
Family member include: sons, Bill (Denise) of Crookston, Minn., Scott (Carrie) of Baraboo, Wis., and Jamie (Carlene) of Humboldt, Minn.; five grandchildren, Amanda Cole, Ami (Chris) Kellar, Jonathan (Cecelia) Cole of Humboldt, Michael (Lisa) Cole, Adam (Michelle) Cole; and many great-grandchildren and numerous family members in Ontario.
A celebration of Reba’s life was held at the Lancaster Covenant Church on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at 2 p.m. Pastor Galen Nordin will officiate the ceremony with Janelle Hostrup, piano; Faye Potrament, soloist; Erik Finney, soloist; Annaliese and Aidra Johnson, duet. Honorary pallbearers will be Reba’s great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Hallock Youth Hockey Association or Bearcat Faceoff Club.
