Harris Johnson, 91

Harris Johnson, 91, of Hallock, Minn., passed away at Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper, Wyo., on Monday, April 18, 2022.
Harris was born in Hallock on Jan. 16, 1931, the son of Harry and Lillian (Dawson) Johnson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at Maria Lutheran Church in Kennedy, Minn. Harris graduated from Kennedy High School in 1949 and continued his education at Gustavus Adolphus College. He served for two years in the U.S. Army, serving most of his time at Fort Riley, Kan. Upon his discharge, he returned to Gustavus to complete his studies.
On Oct. 15, 1955, he was united in marriage to Maxine Gullander. They made their home in Hallock where Harris was manager of Agsco for 35 years. He loved spending time with his family and always looked forward to the Fourth of July family reunions at their cabin at Rocky Point on Lake of the Woods. Harris was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and served on the church council for many years. He also served on the Agsco Board and the American Federal Board.
Harris is survived by: his wife of 66 years, Maxine; a son, Chris (Laurie) Johnson, Casper; a daughter, Lori (David) Netsch, Spirit Lake, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Teri Johnson, East Grand Forks, Minn.; six grandchildren, Meagan (Jon) Holland, Morgan (Adam) Diehl, Zachary (Ashley) Johnson, Harrison Johnson, Kara (Douglas) Johnson and Jac (Hannah) Netsch; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth (John) Dahl; sister-in-law, Betty Fischer; and many nieces and nephews.
Harris was preceded in death by: his parents; a son, Craig; an infant son and grandson; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Faye and John Coleman, Janice and Jim Gustafson, and a brother-in-law, Henry Fischer.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, Hallock. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service.
