Cody Alan Olafson, 26

Cody Alan Olafson, 26, of Middle River, Minn., passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022, at Southeast Georgia Health Center in Brunswick, Ga.
Cody was born Aug 11, 1995, in Roseau, Minn., to Scott Olafson and Ann (Przekwas) Peterson. He attended school in Roseau from kindergarten through fifth grade, Middle River-Greenbush from sixth through 11th grade, and 12th grade in Roseau, graduating from RHS in 2014. Cody attended Ridgewater Community College in Willmar, Minn., for Non-Destructive Testing receiving his degree in 2018. Cody was baptized and confirmed at the Spruce Lutheran Church in Roseau.
He worked in Duluth, Minn., at Acuren Industrial Services, but decided he wanted to be closer to family so he moved back to northern Minnesota and worked at Marvin Windows and DigiKey. He then applied to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. He waited two years (due to COVID) and finally received a letter that he was accepted.
He accepted the job at Pembina, N.D., Port of Entry. Cody left on Jan 30, 2022, for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Field Operations Academy.
Cody enjoyed hunting, fishing, racing bush cars, trapping, 4-wheeling and reading about history. Most of all he enjoyed family time and spending time with his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his mother, Ann Peterson (Robbi); sister, Sara Magnusson (Erik); grandmother, Marjorie Przekwas; grandmother, Martha Olafson; Shelly Olafson (Scott), Angela Robinson, Trevor Peterson (Anna), Tanner Peterson, Tessani Peterson, Bryden Prelvitz, Easton Barrett, Kambrya Magnusson, Ada Peterson, Nora Peterson.; and many aunts, uncle and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Scott Olafson; grandfather, Gordon Olafson; grandfather, Frank Przekwas; and uncle, Wayne Olafson.
A funeral service was held on Friday, May 27, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church in Roseau. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau.
