Kennedy to begin mapping the city’s sewer system

The Kennedy City Council approved moving forward on mapping out the city’s sewer system through GIS during the July meeting on Wednesday, July 15.
The council approved Task Order No. 4 with Bollig Engineering to map out the sanitary and storm sewer inlets and manholes. This will also include drafting main lines. The data Bollig gathers during this process will be placed into the Silversmith Data system.
“We budgeted for this already,” said Melissa Woinarowicz, city clerk.
“If we budgeted for it, I think it’s crazy not to do it then,” said Councilor Jon Turn.
The cost for this task order is $4,500, which the council approved.
The council held off on approving a subscription to Silversmith Data, which will allow the city to access the GIS map of the sewer system, until after the mapping is complete.
