Daniel Morris Ingeman, 73
Daniel Morris Ingeman, 73, passed away, surrounded by his loving family on Monday morning, April 4, 2022 at the VA Medical Center in Fargo, N.D., due to declining health.
Daniel was born March 30, 1949, in Hallock, Minn., the son of Morris Verlin and Loes (Johnson) Ingeman. He attended Humboldt, Minn., High School and graduated in 1967. Dan served with the U.S. Army from 1969 until 1970 when he was honorably discharged. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, AIR Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star and Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 device.
Once back home, Dan wed the love of his life, Rebecca Stewart, on March 29, 1974. Dan started farming near Humboldt in 1989. Together they welcomed two children, Christopher Nathan and Cassy Danielle. They settled on a farm on the outskirts of town and enjoyed many happy years there. As his health continued to decline, they sold their beloved farm house and moved to Moorhead, Minn., to be closer to the care he needed.
Dan enjoyed many things such as snowmobiling with friends and family, and grooming the trails for the Kittson County Trail Blazers. He enjoyed farming and was proud of the hard work he put in and the life he provided for his family. He was an avid fisherman and frequently made trips to Lake of the Woods to reel them in. He was also a lover of hunting and always enjoyed scoping out the big bucks and swapping stories with friends and family at the Hill Mill Deer Camp.
Dan would always make sure he made the time to take many drives along the dirt roads in the country putting on miles and checking on the crops. He looked forward to the crops each year and breaking out the new equipment, the bigger the better! He was very proud to serve on various boards — Red River Sugarbeet Grower’s Association, Hill Township, Humboldt Elevator and Mar-Kit/North Valley Grain.
Dan is survived by: his loving wife, Rebecca; children, Chris (Maria Duchene) Ingeman, Cassy (Josh) Peterson; three grandchildren that he was especially proud of and loved so much – Marcus, Brooke and Brynn; a brother, David (Sharon) Ingeman; sisters, Cheryl (Dale) Dunn and Cari (John) Hanzel; a sister-in-law, Lori Ingeman; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that were so special to him.
He was preceded in death by parents, Morris and Loes Ingeman; father and mother-in-law, Hilson and Eleanor Stewart; a brother, James Ingeman and a nephew, Jason Dunn.
Dan was a special man and will be missed by many.
